Psalms of Ascent – Lesson 13

Dr. Rob Gustafson will be leading a class in room 124/125 on Psalms of Ascents, Psalms 120-134, entitled, Songs for the Christian Journey. The Old Testament believers sang these songs as they traveled to Jerusalem for the three required festivals each year: Passover, Pentecost, and the Feast of Booths. For those traveling this long, dangerous journey, the Psalms of Ascents reminded them of God’s providential care and covenant love.

As Christians, we journey to the heavenly Jerusalem (Hebrews 12:22-24). In these fifteen Psalms, God calls us to take this lifelong journey seriously and to glean from these ancient songs the challenge, encouragement, and comfort of walking closely with Him.
